My Chiricahua Apache Roots
Through DNA tests they can now determine Ancestoral groups based on the HaploGroups/types. I found out that my birth father has Spanish, Mexican, and Chiricahua Apache genes from the "Y" chromosome testing to determine HaploGroup/types.
Very complicated but this site
DNA-info will help to understand the basic science of Genetics that has developed only since the Human Genome was finally completed in 2003.
Basics
Men can have both Paternal lineage, through the "Y" chromosome that has the fathers DNA markers that show the Ancestors back through many generations. Maternal lineage comes from every cell's mitochondial DNA and so females can only find their Paternal lineage from a brother, father, or other male family member.
The sites below have information that helps to understand the basics of this fascinating new discovery that has been able to trace the First Man and First Woman. The estimates are that somewhere in Kenya, Africa, the first "Adam and Eve" can be traced back to about 60,000 years ago. Hmmm, those who are Half-Blood and male Korean Adoptees might consider looking into the tests.
Go check some of the sites out, maybe you might find some interesting things about yourself.
Just letting you know that I half moved to: kimyunmi.com. I'm leaving the DA account, though. I just felt that I needed more flexibility for blogging... so I'll definitely arrange the memoir and then keep a separate blog about various Korean adoptee issues.
ReplyDeleteThank you Yoon Mi, I will try to fix the link soon as you get settled. Sounds great, keep it up.
